Hey, I'm getting a 1080ti and an I5-12400f but I have a 600watt PSU. Is it enough?image.thumb.png.2fffe2dee207d9aa88749f063f3d26e0.png
Don't judge my selection

 In theory yes, it should be enough.  A 750 or 850w is not much more expensive and it leaves a nice room for upgrade later. The Corsair RM750e is 99 bucks and has a 10 year warranty and great build quality.

Short answer: Definitely YES

The only time you need to buy higher capacity PSU is your future upgrade plan

If you are going to upgrade GPU to RTX 3080/4080 or higher, a 850W PSU minimal is recommended.

Until then, enjoy your PSU

Because? Itll be enough for it but yeah PSU market for sub 750 is FUBAR if you want quality, cross check the 650W market with 750W.

I don't know. It's the first time making a pc list

First time PC builder biggest mistake is not asking for 2nd opinion on whether their build is good for what they wanna do. If you want to we can help to build a better list in the first place in accordance to your budget and purchase region, and also what youre going to use the PC for.

I'm okay with opinions, I've talked to many people who have built PCs. I've also already ordered all the parts. I was just curious is my psu was gonna be bad or something

Build = 12400f - 1080ti

Ah okay, got it. But yeah, honestly Thermaltake Smart white is the one that people really like to flak on about. It atleast delivers whats advertise but honestly id refund it before you even open the box and get something else. For the same price with current rebate you can get Cooler Master G700 off Newegg.

What makes it so bad? If it's the efficiency, I don't really care about it too much

Plus I got the PSU for free from a good friend who bought it by accident, He never used it.

Its not about the efficiency really, its in the fact that the build quality is super subpar. It barely supports the wattage it says on the box and they dont respond well to grid interference thanks to the lack of OCP and OVP. Honestly your friend kinda dodged a bullet not putting it in their build.

I don't know. My brother got a computer recently and it has the same PSU as I do, it's been running since 2018 I think? (he got it from a co-worker)

Build = 12400f - 1080ti

I think I'll use the thermaltake psu but then once I've saved enough to grab a good quality psu I do that

Build = 12400f - 1080ti
