I need some help!! I originally bought the Oculus go a few years ago before I had a PC that could run VR.  I have since built my own PC and it should be more then capable enough.  Now my dilemma has been space.  I have not had enough space in my room to use one hooked up to my PC.  But I am moving to a new place come the middle of June and would love to get back into VR.  With price not being an factor what should I be looking at? Or should I wait? I know the new PS5 VR headset made some leaps as far as graphics and the "display" and other even top of the line ones are behind on that aspect.  I am a bit of a graphics snob over gameplay even though I hate to say it.  Should I purchase one now "next few months" or should I wait another 6 months to year until a company like valve or htc releases a much better one?  Please help:)

My first, second if you could switching cases ever that happened a few months ago for your viewing pleasure!

That's what I think of when I think top of line but then reading about it, alot of it talks about how yea it  was incredible when it was realeased in 2020 but everyone else is catching up and its not worth it anymore.  And man I would HATE to for example buy the valve from 2020 then next year they release a new one finally that blows it out of the water

There's always something new coming out. You can wait forever for the next big thing, or you can buy something and enjoy it now. I know with the original Vive I waited and waited, until they released the "new" model (Cosmos IIRC) and ended up still buying the OG Vive. Then wished I hadn't waited so long. Since passed the Vive along to my son, and picked up a Vive 2.

I would wait a bit to see if valve releases their new headset this year but if you need something now the Vive Pro 2 kit with the Valve index controllers is your best bet for an all around good kit. You could go Pimax or Varjo Aero if you want to spend a ton of cash for super wide FOV or super high resolution.

Just buy whatever you think would make you happy, a Valve Index is still going to be a top tier headset for years to come, so it's not like you're suddenly going to have a terrible experience once new headsets come out. Also, there's no saying that whatever comes out will be better graphically or cheaper, so you may end up waiting even longer because they release a $1500 headset instead, although that's purely hypothetical.

Alternatively, you could wait and see what Meta/Oculus is cooking up with the Quest 3, supposedly it's a lot faster then the Quest 2 and around the same price. Sounds like it'd be a good option too assuming it's going to be the leaked price of about half that of an Index.

Keep in mind that I am sometimes wrong, so please correct me if you believe this is the case!
