If you play a mix of games with RT enabled in some, they're actually identical in performance at 1440p. If you remove RT results, then the 7900XT is faster.

Here's the comparison chart from Hardware Unboxed:

then again if your streaming (on twitch) currently it is better on the 4070 ti. But for pure gaming the 7900 xt is very good value

7900 XT will age better than the RTX 4070ti. RTX 4070ti is a pretty low quality cut of silicon comparably. The 7900 XT should see gains in performance through driver optimizations just like RDNA2 saw. Its RT performance is decent, but really you're not maxing out RT unless you've got an RTX 4090.

RT performance in my opinion is still not there yet to justify compromising for just like we saw with the RX 6000 / RTX 3000. You really need an RTX 4090 for a no compromise RT experience even at 1080p. Its only getting worse too with its new path tracing RT.

RX 7900 XT can at least toggle on lower settings to get some eye candy when you need it, but you're not getting the fullest experience with anything other than a RTX 4090.

Builder/Enthusiast/Overclocker since 2012 with a focus on SFF/ITX since 2014.

For pure gaming and occasional casual streaming, the RX7900XT. For raytracing in games, more serious streaming, and AI work, the RTX4070ti, but you'll have to live with less VRAM than the AMD card. Also, are they the same price where you're from?

How about driver issues or coilwhine on 7900 XT?

If you want a detailed account from owners you should make a new post about it on this same subforum instead of hijacking a thread especially when theyre already getting pretty old.
