So I was playing some competitive games today and was experiencing some pretty regular "rubberbanding". I decided to first reboot my router and modem as well as run updates on my machine. No change. I ran a speed test to see if my ISP is having any issues and I am getting my full 400mbps. I decided to ping 8.8.8.8 to see if I am dropping any pings. For several minutes I am dropping every 24th ping. Every once in awhile it takes longer. I found a support thread on Toms Hardware saying they were dropping every thirty seconds and there was a location privacy setting that was causing his issues. I changed that setting with no difference to my performance. Anyone have any ideas?

  1. On ethernet or WiFi?
  2. Are you on any special network setup?
  3. Do you have any other device on the network with high internet download/upload activity?
  4. Have you tried updating your drivers? Especially graphics, chipset and network.
