I had recently bought an RTX 3050 used to replace my RX 580, (fan died and didn't feel like replacing, it was acting weird anyways)

and when I had originally put it into my computer and booted into safe mode to DDU the AMD drivers it was artifacting like crazy, but I toughed it out to see if it was because I didn't have drivers, so I rebooted back into windows and installed them, but to no avail. It was still artifacting. After this defeat I had decided to reseat the GPU and magically it was completely fine and has been ever since. Only problem is I've seen random black flashes in applications like Discord and on the YouTube site every couple of hours or so (very inconsistent and barely there) I also did a furmark run and nothing happened.

I have a feeling it's okay but I want someone to reassure me on this otherwise I'll keep obsessing about it.

Specs (just in case)

Ryzen 5 5500

16 GB 3200Mhz RAM

MSI B550M PRO-VDH

RTX 3050 Gigabyte OC

I had same problem. Display signal gets lost for a second or two.

Replace cable that connnects your pc to display with better quality one

If that doesn't help I need information about your display

I'm not sure it's my HDMI cable due to the fact that it had worked perfectly fine with my RX 580, but if you want details on my monitor I'll provide them

It's an

LG 24MK430H-B 24" FHD Monitor (originally 60hz but capable of 75 so it's running at 75hz)

seeing your monitor i believe its hdmi1.4 so your using a 1.4cable  it shouldnt technically be an issue but things happen.. cause 580 is hdmi 2.0 and 3050 is hdmi 2.1 i doubt i would cause actual issues. but it can happen if the pc gods moons allign wrongly in one night.

so you ddu'd it with the new gpu already installed? meaning did you swap gpus then booted it up in safe mode and ddu'd it? and guessing after that you installed the new drivers.

personally i would always ddu with the old gpu before swapping it out. have you tried to simply ddu + reinstall the drivers again? It can indeed be something as simple as not a good seating in the mobo but it is possible some code could be left over of the other drivers. it shouldnt actually be the case but nothing ever is perfect.

Yep, I DDU'd with the new GPU installed in safe mode. I could give DDUing and reinstalling a go and see what happens. Like I said the only problem I currently have with it now is that in YouTube and on Discord I'll get random black flashes (usually 1/day) in the app/site itself rather than my entire monitor, which had not previously happened with my RX 580.

before you try that, one question maybe a bit weird but... sag? did you have it and do you have it now? can you confirm via pushing it in fully once more it truly is properly in the slot? as you really do need to push it a bit uncomfortably with some mobos. because such flickering is either because of your gpu or the monitor itself. if you have the possibility of course you could try a different monitor maybe loan one or connect it to the tv orso see if it still happens.

My screw holes don't line up with the case, but as far as I know there has been no sag. I could try ever so slightly trying to wriggle my gpu into a better position to make the screw holes line up.

screw holes should indeed not really indicate anything sag wise. but it should line up when you slot it in the motherboard. could be its not properly but its not gonna cause issues. not like this with very specific applications at least.  did you try it with a new monitor? or your tv? i would suggest seeing if these issues happen on another monitor/tv as well.

I now have had 2 monitors on for about 3-4 hours without anything out of the ordinary, but the issue may come up randomly.

i suggest keeping it going for some days. if nothing happens then you know where the issue lies
