Hello I’m upgrading my gaming pc to ddr5 and was wondering what’s better Intel or amd for the cpu? The pc is only used for gaming.

A Intel 13600k or a 7600X would both be good picks if all your doing is gaming. Just comes down to your budget and how much your willing to spend.

Unless I've been completely fooled the 7000 series only runs on DDR5. Got 32gbs installed atm.

maybe it was certain speeds, seemed for a while people were complaining hard about it. Could have been 5000 series though

AM4 was DDR4-only, AM5 is DDR5-only.

 

LGA1700 straddles the line, those CPUs and motherboards will take either type but not both simultaneously.

first and second gen Ryzen were very picky about ram speeds but it was mostly down to mobos not having good memory trace paths and is pretty much history

Between the two, the 13700k is more powerful.

I’d go intel 13600k or up, u can see in the photo in survivor and also last of us games are loading up a lot more threads than a 7600x has available to it
