New PC Build

Hi guys,

i am planing to build a new PC as my current one is about 7 years old and will keep it as secondary or at the living room. I have been looking around for the parts for some time and simply i was overwhelmed from the options and info, simply gave up and was thinking to buy a pre build and be done with it but my conscious will not allow that and so i thought to ask for help here.

Budget (including currency):

1,500 to 2,000 €

Country:

Germany

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for:

I can not exactly say what games but for sure i would like to dive in on some games without having lagging issues with that being said i do not aim to keep the settings at Ultra High! It would be nice but lets keep it real 🙂

As for workloads just normal stuff but again it would be nice to have a system that will not lag if i want for example to learn Photoshop and so on.

As a result i guess a combination of working/gaming build if that is even possible.

Other details:

I want to place the weight of the budget at the CPU-MOBO-RAM-Storage and so  as i can always upgrade the GPU at a later time.

For the monitor i was thinking a curved single monitor.

Peripherals will be needed too (not to be included at the current budget as i will upgrade them later on).

For the Case Air flow is the most interesting part for me here.

RGB stuff not needed not wanted

As until now i always had Intel i am fixed on going for an AMD build.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Many Thanks

This build I have here for you is a significant upgrade to what you already have and it will be TONS faster too. I was able to give you 2 M.2 storage drives, a 500GB w/ 1GB DRAM Cache and a 1TB w/ 1GB DRAM Cache to load your games and programs with Lightning Fast Speeds. The 500GB is for your Windows Install and the other is for your games and other large files. You can always add more storage later if you need to. The Video Card I picked will allow you to play any game you want at the highest settings. I was also able to throw in a Curved Monitor for you. If you decide to go with my build them please mark this as the solution, Thanks in advance.

I made sure that all the parts are coming from Amazon to make it easier for you and NO RGB is in the build except what the Motherboard has, it's really hard to find one without it these days.

I have been building PCs for 30 years so if you have any questions please let me know.

With its storage and RAM taken? I did the former and it saved me for bulk storage, just replacing it with a basic 480GB SSD and 8GB of ram for HTPC purpose. Tell us the old PC spec to see what we can throw together and salvage from it for the new build.

Easily recommend 2tb of storage, because you'll be doing photo (and possibly video editing) on top of gaming.

Now for the gpu, you can always go for the newest, or you can go for something smaller. I chose the 4070 so you wouldn't even have to worry about upgrading anything for quite some time. Also, a DDR5 motherboard and RAM didn't work with the budget well, so I went DDR4, which is still really nice.

For the cpu, you can go for the i5-13500 to save some money, but the i5-13600KF will have a higher base clock speed, which will help you now and in the long run from having to upgrade that sooner too.

1440p monitor is also where it's at. Went with ASUS, but if you find one for cheaper that you like, then go for it for sure. Just make sure it's not a TN panel.

from what i am reading the CPU is a very decent one just that it goes a bit high at temps, would it be better to go for an other CPU Cooler? if you think it is actually the case any suggestions for that?

For the Monitor as i have a 27" i was thinking for a bigger one, any suggestions?

Cheers

The Thermalright CPU Cooler that I picked actually competes with the best Noctua Coolers and some say that they even out perform them by a small margin. The only Cooling solution that could be better is an AIO Water Cooler or a Custom Loop. I don't do Custom Loops as they are very hard to do, time consuming, and hard to configure the right parts for.

They don't really have too many options right now in Germany for larger Monitors I was able to find 1, a 32" link below.

ViewSonic VX3268-2KPC-MHD 32.0" 2560 x 1440 144 Hz Curved Monitor €477.00

So i placed the order for the parts most of them will be arriving this week except a few:

CPU Cooler https://de.pcpartpicker.com/product/GpbRsY/thermalright-phantom-spirit-120-se-6617-cfm-cpu-cooler-ps120se is temporarily out of stock, i checked  some sites but no luck so i went for the NZXT Kraken 240 - 240mm AIO CPU Water Cooler

https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B0BNYQJJLV/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s03?ie=UTF8&psc=1 is this going to be a good choice? If not any other suggestions?

GPU https://de.pcpartpicker.com/product/vKZ9TW/xfx-radeon-rx-6800-xt-16-gb-speedster-merc-319-core-video-card-rx-68xtalfd9 will be arriving at the end of the other week so if there are some alternatives with the hope that i could have it on sooner date would be nice.

Monitor https://de.pcpartpicker.com/product/7xzFf7/viewsonic-vx3268-2kpc-mhd-320-2560x1440-144-hz-curved-monitor-vx3268-2kpc-mhd unfortunately will be arriving 17 of June, that is a bit long wait considering that i am a bit hyped at the moment, maybe any other suggestions here?

Cheers

Monitor https://de.pcpartpicker.com/product/7xzFf7/viewsonic-vx3268-2kpc-mhd-320-2560x1440-144-hz-curved-monitor-vx3268-2kpc-mhd unfortunately will be arriving 17 of June, that is a bit long wait considering that i am a bit hyped at the moment, maybe any other suggestions here?

Cheers

The NZXT AIO is good. I can't say anything against it. If you see temps above 80 degrees then I would consider a 360mm AIO or the Thermalright Air Cooler I recommended. Do you have PRIME shipping in Germany?

There are some other sites you might be able to get these items from, here are some links to 2 different GPUs and 2 Monitors. I can't read German and the translator isn't working do I can't tell when these items will ship so you might have to do a bit of looking on your own to see which ones will get to you quicker. I will list the cheapest prices at the time of this writing.

PowerColor Red Dragon OC Radeon RX 6800 XT $567.99

XFX Speedster MERC 319 CORE Radeon RX 6800 XT $579.00

Asus TUF Gaming VG32VQR 31.5" 2560 x 1440 165 Hz Curved Monitor $326.94

Gigabyte G27QC A 27.0" 2560 x 1440 165 Hz Curved Monitor $269.00

Good to hear that for the NZXT, if the temps are high i will definitely switch to the other options.

I have PRIME but the monitor was shipped from a third party seller it seems, i cancelled the order and went for the Asus TUF Gaming VG32VQR 31.5" 2560 x 1440 165 Hz Curved Monitor which it will arrive the next days, probably the ViewSonic will arrive too as i did the cancellation a bit late and amazon is contacting the seller for the cancellation. No harm, i will try both monitors keep the one that i like most and send back the other one 🙂

Cheers

The ASUS Monitor will definitely be better. I love the ASUS TUF Series. It's like getting the upper tier of Mid-Range Parts for budget level pricing if you can understand that. Maybe a different analogy, think of the TUF Series as a Ruby or Sapphire as Mid-Range items, a Diamond as High-End, and a Quartz at budget Low-End. You are basically getting the Ruby or Sapphire for the price of the Quartz.

I hope it turns out really nice for you. Please DM me some pics of the PC when it's done, I would love to see some.
