is this a ok amd based overcloking set up https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/yqqYMb

I would actually do some undervolting as it gives better performance for less or equal power

I'd consider going for 3600MT RAM speeds as ryzen chips do like quick RAM.

Besides that it's a really solid System.

so go for a bit of a speed up ok it just wasnt the mobo qvl list witch is why i went slower should it be ok to go with faster unsuported ram

What kind of overclocking will you be doing?

Theres cpu ram and gpu overclocking and i know for certain that generic 3200 set is not gonna be ideal for overclocking unless you get lucky and get some d9xpf (16gbit rev b) but you wanna be absolutely certain as to what ic you are gettin

also asus boards may have issues getting over 4600 ddr4 but that seems to be more of a random chance kinda thing, youd be better off with a steel legend/pg velocita since those have postcodes which are very helpful for general troubleshooting and overcloxking

And what will the system be used for aside from overclocking? because that does not look like an overclocking set cause if the only use was oc you wouldnt be looking at some crappy mid tier asus board and more like a b550 unify x or b550 aorus master

Btw you post a buncha build threads so im curious if you are just asking on behalf of your friends or something cause if its for a friend you should ask them about ocing and if theyre a diehard like me or just a casual that wants abit of extra performance

https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/qgQjwc

7700 + 6900xt + 32gb 6000c30

7700 will satisfy your cpu ocing more than a 5700x since instead of a mere 4.8 allcore you can do 5.4-5.5 on the 7700

As for the cooler if its priced >50$ get the ft120 instead, literally just a peerless assassin but diff name

Rams already fast enough out of the box so you wont have to worry about that, you can overclock em later for when you drop in a new cpu

Aside from that just a bunch of cost cutting measures (cheaper case, single 2tb cause high speed gen4 is pointless for non r/w heavy stuff, cheaper psu cause corsair is overpriced and specsheets dont matter)

As for monitor i do not have a suggestion cause i am not a peripherals guy and i would opt to just buy whatever 1440p 144/165hz used monitor i can get my hands on since i can find those locally at around 200-250$ used

I literally gave you a pcpp with am5 for the same price as that overpriced am4

Just go am5 even if that means dropping down to a 7600 or buying a used psu/case rather than being stuck on a dead end am4 platform
