Proxmox install

Hi I’m trying to install proxmox on my all AMD gaming pc with these specs but every time it initializes the install it comes up and says aborted installation any help would be greatly appreciated I’m turning my desktop into a virtualization server for Homelab use.

5600x

32GB DDR4

1TB NVME

Intel ARC A770 16GB

Can you give a bit more info? What error do you get? Whats in the logs?

 

You can also install debian and then install proxmox on top of that.

Here’s the error log I get when trying to install proxmox also how would I go about installing Linux then proxmox as my type 1 hypervisor.

i use proxmox on my old gaming towers that run 8-core cpu's and 32gb ram. I never had an install error beside the GPU not loading the driver for i. but it still installed everything else and worked flawless.

It looks like the a770 is your problem here, and can't load the gui for the installer. I don't think there is a way to run the installer without a gui

 

If you can get a different gpu, or install debian and install the proxmox packages on top of that.

There is a wonky way to do it.

Boot some other OS, and create VM with using that whole drive in VM. Install.

After that, you can boot it by selecting boot disk in BIOS.

I presently have a server with proxmox. The gpu in there is a gt 710.

It took me about 5 tries to install, as the gui would freeze randomly.

 

It seems the  gui installer is not a high priority for proxmox developers.
