I need help

So i just bought this new RAM, DDR3 SK Hynix 8GB 12800, and it doesnt work on my Motherboard ( H18 with i3 4150 ).

 

It just wont display on single/dual channel ( with my old 4gb RAM {10600} )

 

And then i asked for a change for the ram. Giving all the informations and proofs, only just to be replied with the seller saying that my motherboard is a built up motherboard, doesn't support a "black coloured" RAM

nah case closed, its a ram faulty, i have two of them, one stick do work really well, and the other dont, why i made this post is because my other ram hasn't arrived yet, nevertheless, i contacted the shop and they will to return the faulty ram, but im still curious tho, do built up motherboards are picky when choosing ram?

I mean they are in some cases, either due to vendor lockout or mismatched profile. If your prebuilt has a memory QVL, referring to that would save you a lot of time.
