Random BIOS update

Yes it's normal, for some laptops/prebuilts BIOS updates are distributed as part of Windows updates.

Many modern laptops update their BIOS through Windows Update. Assuming the battery is still in working order and the laptop is plugged in, it isn't as risky as it used to be

Highly knowledgeable in all the obscure 2000s hardware & software you'll never need to ask about
