just ram and mobo and CPU. Could the mobo  be shorting on a standoff? Also, try resetting the CMOS -  I had that fix the same problems I've had twice on my PC's.

already reset by resitting battery and tried motherboard of the case as well.

Some how i feel there is too little information about your problem . display is the main issue  assuming cpu is working & giving out display on another monitor.so check weather the monitor is plugged in properly & working as well as the cables. see if they need replacement.. most probably ram might not be working usual issue in this case , make sure they're properly snugged in their respective channels/dimms and fitted in tight , if still not working try replace those ram modules

Hmmm...  okay

problem list:

  • Ram
  • power supply to mother board.??

you do have the 4 pin or 8 pin connected in to power the motherboard right? (just checking to see if you missed)

wow. so moving on to other stufs, check all of these i dont wanna clutter your thread with un-nessesary posts.

problem list:

  • Ram
  • power supply to mother board.
  • check Monitor cables (dont know which cable you're using see if any pins are broken off on mobo port/try another new cable)
  • try another PSU lying around (maybe its shorting out the mobo's)
  • instead of graphics card use the mobo's video out (clear out graphics card issue)
  • make sure cpu side (bottom) isnt having anything sticking to it,
  • lightly wiggle in the cpu more to make (somewhat) better contact
  • make sure its not friday 13th

Ok 1. Its not friday 13th check.

3. Will test out another psu as have spare.

4. will check the cpu

5. will re sit the cpu and will tell you the news tomorrow

you are using the gpu output while it is installed right? and only use the onboard output because you have taken out the gpu?
