Only getting 3 down 10 up on one computer

Go to solution Solved by Ringtail Jax,

Third one, reason I go with intel is because of their legendary reliability record. :)

I'm sapost to be getting 50/10 from comcast however I'm getting that on everything except for my desktop. I don't understand why it's not working my network card is a Trendnet TEW643PI PCI adapter for my pc. It's a real pain and I don't know whats wrong so I'd really appreciate someones help. The rest of my specs are in my sig.

Alright, both the card and the router look decent, how far away from the router is such computer (sorry if that's a rhetorical question, just pulling out some details).

Ok, well I did some research, pulled out some Ideas, and have came up with some idea.

1. The router you have is susceptible to WiFi degradation very quickly and for some reason fail fairly quickly (just a idea from what I've found)

2. If the router is too close to A. The floor B. Anything emitting signals (within its respective frequencies) or C. Both, this in itself can cause problems even if the router is just below the computer.

3. Might be typical, but drivers could be a problem as well, if you haven't already, go to the main makers website and download the latest driver OR a driver previous to such that works better than the current one (as we all know, disk drivers are pretty much obsolete).

4. If three doesn't fix it and the others don't either, try getting a different WiFi adapter or switch to a LAN cable.

Hope this helps :)

try getting a wired connection and if thats better then wifi then you know where the problem is try doing speedtest on a mobile device and if its still crap then its the router if its fine then its your adapter

I can do that, here http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2945835&CatId=200

It's not wirless AC but I'm pretty sure you don't have anything that supports that right now, so this should be ok, and it's $10 less :)

Also, newegg doesn't have stores :D
