Fix Android 10 USB Camera (UVC) bug

I recently bought an AV TO USB adapter so I record my vhs camera digitally (it has av outputs). On my pc and laptop the device works as it should, but I also want to get it working with my phone, as it would be much more convinient. First I tried using the USB Camera app, but it did not seem to work, then I tried everything else: non of them worked. Then I found the issue on the android issue tracker, but it does not have a definitive solution. I have a Huawei P20 (normal) with Android 10 (EMUI 10, previously 12, but I downgraded), and I cannot find a solution to fix this. I don't want to downgrade further to Android 9 and I don't want to upgrade to Android 11. I also don't want to buy a new phone or anything expensive. I also tried using it with my tablet and that worked as well, but I want to get it working on my phone if that's possible.

 

Can someone help my getting this working?

You really shouldn't be using old firmware on your phone, its leaving yourself open to so many security issues.

 

Further more, if something is broken on the stock firmware there is nothing you can do about it except perhaps if there is a custom firmware that is known to fix it, but that also comes with its own risks.

Ah great. Altough I can't recall any security changes in emui 12, it's just an graphical change.
