Pc crashes while playing (more intensive) games but will run fine for games like terraria. It says that I have a VIDEO TDR PROBLEM, and that has something to do with the file NVLDDMKM.SYS.

I have tried everything in this link, https://www.makeuseof.com/easy-ways-fix-nvlddmkm-sys-error-in-windows-10/ except the last one. Which I'm currently trying to do but have no clue which nlvddmkm.sys file I need to "change"?

Don't replace the DLL or sys files. Just update the drivers.

Have been running this PC for almost 4 years now and have had no major issues.

Latest Bios? Latest  chipset drivers downloaded directly from AMD?

Which motherboard?

Asus ROG Strix B450-I Gaming, now sure how to check if im on latest Bios or Chipset Drivers. 😕

If you have to check, you most certainly don't have the latest.

The Bios version you can check in the Bios, in CPU-Z or some other programs.

Here are the Bios versions for your board

And here are the AMD chipset drivers:

Yes, although i could only download version 4007 via internet. i dont have a usb on hand to get the latest (5003).

That is too old, older than AGESA 1.2.0.0.

You don't need an USB to flash the latest Bios. Download it, unpack it on one of your drives, enter the Bios, locate the file and flash it.

Still the same error when. BSOD Video TDR Problem and nvlddmkm.sys

Try uninstalling the driver for the GPU, after that use Display Driver Uninstaller to remove the leftovers and when it's done reinstall the newest nVidia drivers.

If it still happens after that, you might need to test the GPU in another system.

Try uninstalling the driver for the GPU, after that use Display Driver Uninstaller to remove the leftovers and when it's done reinstall the newest nVidia drivers.

If it still happens after that, you might need to test the GPU in another system.

Do i need to check/uncheck any of these options?

UPDATE:
Ever since I updated to 531.68, I've had zero crashes - my system seems 100% stable
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Since Nvidia driver 531.61 many have had system crashes, game crashes, etc. with logs in Event Viewer mentioning nvlddmkm, myself included.

Nvidia have also now acknowledged that since driver 531.61 latency on a driver level have increased, which can cause system crashes and/or CTD, and this can be confirmed using Latencymon, and also that fx OCCT video ram test when memory is full produces nvlddmkm errors in the Event Viewer logs (so other softwares could also now produce nvlddmkm errors, just not confirmed). You can read about this here: GeForce GRD 531.61 Feedback Thread ( | NVIDIA GeForce Forums

Now, the same issues are also stated about the newest driver 531.68, but I have yet to have any system crashes or Event Viewer logs mentioning nvlddmkm, so it seems better with 531.68, but it's still way too early for me to confirm that this new driver have fixed it for me. And you can read about 531.68 here: GeForce GRD 531.68 Feedback Thread ( | NVIDIA GeForce Forums

And yes, I have tried DDU'ing when 531.61 released but that did not fix it. For 531.68 I simply just "clean" installed it. And yeah, so far 531.68 seems good, but again, too early to confirm anything.

But as suggested, trying DDU is a good idea for sure!

Is there a way to go back to older but more stable version?

After a clean install I’m still crashing and now artifacting on windows launch, only on the top half of my monitor.

Sorry to say but this looks like a failing GPU, maybe VRAM specifically. Are you overclocking in any way?

You should really try the GPU in a different PC and a different GPU in yours.
