Is 79c Bad While Only Running Chrome?

Marvel 563
Go to solution Solved by UnusualDevices,

Have you restarted?

Cpu is from 2018 may need re pasted for optimal performance but t junction is 100c so you aren't endangering your cpu, but

if you've restarted, run malwarebytes, and if malwarebytes says you are clean, you should think about repasting, and if that doesn't fix it, reinstall windows, and if that doesn't fix it, you're boned.

And by boned, I mean, I dunno.

My cpu is an intel core i5 9400T Now i just realised how loud it is because i just woke up and m computer so loud now i left it running google chrome while not shutting it down so is it normal?

A quick Google search shows other users asking the same question and the consensus appears to be you are well within safe operating temps.

Is it running full blast without ever slowing down, even with Chrome closed and nothing open at all?

The real issue here is what is going on that is stressing the CPU?
Are you on a web website that is mining in the background?
Do you have an adblocker installed?  Using one might help.

Router:  Intel N100 (pfSense) WiFi6: Zyxel NWA210AX (1.7Gbit peak at 160Mhz)
WiFi5: Ubiquiti NanoHD OpenWRT (~500Mbit at 80Mhz) Switches: Netgear MS510TXUP, MS510TXPP, GS110EMX
ISPs: Zen Full Fibre 900 (~930Mbit down, 115Mbit up) + Three 5G (~800Mbit down, 115Mbit up)
Upgrading Laptop/Desktop CNVIo WiFi 5 cards to PCIe WiFi6e/7
