Linux\Windows 8 Laptop

Guest

SO I want to install Unbuntu on my laptop while keeping Windows 8. I know this can be achieved by making hard drive divisions. My questions is how can I do this. I have a 1 tb hard drive so space isn't and issue. All I want to know is how to dual boot.

Control panel -> system & security -> create and format hard drive partitions

Reduce your windows partition and install ubuntu on the free space.

For the dual boot you will be asked where to install grub, chose the disk you'll boot on for the dual boot and it's okay.

When you boot into Ubuntu, there will be an option to install alongside windows. Just chose that and you will be set.

Thank you both! Never messed with this stuff before and the last thing I want is to destroy my favorite laptop. :)
