theres a back story as to why im doing this however that would take way to long to explain, so here is my dilemma. i have 2 routers; a linksys ea3500 as my main, and an older linksys e1000 as a back up. the goal is to connect my tower to a router in my room via like a 3 foot ethernet cable, then set up that router in a wireless bridged or repeater mode effectively going: cable modem, router (e1000 in my living room), wirelessly bridged to the other router in my room (ea3500 i assume as the e1000 does not support bridged mode), then to my desktop via ethernet. is this possible without installing funky 3rd arty router firmware? or would i need to run a huge ass cable across my house into the router in my room essentially turning it into a switch? again, not a permanent solution by any stretch, but it would be very helpful if anyone knew a way to do this.

I doubt there is one for an older router that you can use to bridge it.

Not sure why you're against installing 3rd party firmware. It's definitely much better. Recommend OpenWRT or DD-WRT.

im not opposed to it completely. just if a simpler solution was available, that i would take that over throwing different firmware at it
