Budget (including currency): $1500 Roughly

Country: United States

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Beam.NG, 3D modeling, Graphic Design

Other details- So I am not totally new to building computers, but have been out of the loop for a while on parts to performance. I think I put together a nice build somewhat close to my budget ($1500), but if what I have is overkill, I'm ok spending less, and if spending a little more would make a big difference, im ok doing that too. I am also not a person that is gonna upgrade every single year, I plan on having this in mostly the same configuration for the next 5 years or so. I debated going with the XM4 platform (5800X3D) because of this but decided XM5 has room to grow.

My use case:
I work primarily over a remote desktop, but do some CAD work (3D modeling) at home. Along with that, I do some photo editing and graphic design and some very light video editing. I do play games, primarily Beam.NG, but would like to start playing some other titles (the newest Red Dead Redemption is the next game that I would like to play through). I honestly am not one of those people that need super ultra 4k or whatever, if I could have 1440p with decently high settings on Beam.NG I'd be pretty excited.

What I currently use as a computer is a HP ZBook 17 G3, with an I7 6700HQ with 16GB Ram, and a Quadro M1000M (this was a Cad laptop from college).

New Build-

Cpu Combo Microcenter $600
Ryzen 9 7900x
B650 E-F Motherboard
32GB DDR5-6000

6750XT GPU- $395
980 Pro 2TB SSD- $150
CPU Cooler- Noctua NHD15- $130
Case- Fractal Meshify C- $100
Power Supply- Corsair(750W)- $100
Case Fans- $64

Total
$1539

Any help, thoughts, or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Without going to MicroCenter this was the best I can do and it is quite impressive for $1,500 I might say. I have been building PCs for 30 years so if you have any questions please ask. I will also post a link to a MicroCenter build but it would help if I knew exactly which store it was so I can zero in on the stock there.

It's okay

You could get a cheaper cooler, like a TR SE120, and a cheaper drive (WD SN770, Crucial P3 Plus) too

But if you're not gaming I wonder if you shouldn't rather get a NVidia GPU, say a 3070

Thank you guys for the advice, it is truly appreciated!

It looks like money saving options are primarily cooler and storage options, and maybe some slight savings in power supply and and case.

Just to answer some questions, the jump from the 6750XT to the 3070 is a little bit, but not super drastic. I don't lean super hard red or green, so it's really just looking at a price to performance thing and the 6750XT for a tick under $400 seemed like a very good deal.

I am in Minnesota (luckily only live about 45 minutes away from the MicroCenter here).

I have tried to stay with a fan cooler over a custom loop or an AIO, just because there is less moving parts, less things to go wrong, and if I can get similair cooling with a fan cooler I guess I would prefer that. I picked the NH D-15 mostly because I know the components are very well made and silent (I was planning on using noctua fans for the case fans as well).

I appreciate all of your help, and it has given me a few things to think about!

It would be helpful to know actual models. Corsair makes a number of 750W PSU of varying quality. There are dozens of 2x16GB DDR5-6000 kits, etc.

The Meshify C doesn't have a USB-C front panel port. It also has issues with longer GPU. $64 in case fans is excessive.

The AK620 is less expensive than the NH-D15 but has very similar performance. The savings could be applied to a more modern case.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

Maybe adding links to the items may be more beneficial. Thank you for the input on the cooler, that is very valuable to know.

This is the bundle that microcenter is selling. It has the CPU, motherboard, and RAM in the bundle.
