I have been experiencing random crashes for a few months now. Its super annoying to troubleshoot, because it can take multiple days between each crash.

The whole pc shuts down and reboots itself again. It can happen when doing literally anything. in a game, just surfing the web, anything.

Issues has occurred on windows 10 and 11.

I tried a new PSU but that didn't fix it.

I have tried running these stress tests:

OCCT, MemTest64, CrystalDiskMark, Cinebench, among a few 3Dmark tests.

None of these tests made a crash happen. The crashes feel really random.

The crashes started happening, after updating my BIOS. I have since then tried every version of BIOS, in which it has crashed in each.

I used the Asus AI Suite to update and downgrade BIOS. I am now on the latest version.

Its just super annoying that it takes so long between crashes. Makes it annoying to troubleshoot.

My next troubleshooting steps are: CMOS clear, remove 1 ram stick.

I would like other suggestions, and hopefully we can figure this out together.

Thank you for your input. Much appreciated ❤️

Kind regards,

Magnus

You could try and run the memory diagnostic tool and check for corrupted files could you start there?

just open event viewer immediately after you reboot from a crash and check the logs.

You should get an indication for the cause of the error that causes the PC to crash.

From there you have the ability to troubleshoot the issue

I have tried that, but i found the error to be kinda not helpful.

I can try again, whenever it decides to crash again.

with event viewer you need to run thru the tabs.....under system the crash is often obscure or simply blames an issue on the CPU etc.

try to note the time date etc then cross reference under apps as often a app that was running that did something or a process that had a hiccup might be what led to the crash which under system is not actually being mentioned

It is also a good idea to clean out the logs each time you boot going forward so that if and when the PC does do a random crash you do not have a mass of info to wade thru.

the time of any events is listed but you can also check in other sections of the event viewer where and app or process had a glitch but did not crash....these can often repeat themselves and then suddenly they can or do go tits up and cause a crash.

i ran the built in tool, mdsched.exe, in windows for memory diagnostic and i tried scanning for corruption in windows using "sfc /scannow". No errors.
