Hello! I am diagnosing my cousin PC his GPU will not go pack the BIOS screen, The gpu is showing a red light in his system and mine, on my system it goes to the bios and after that it gives me a black screen, I put my gpu in his system it works but his gpu on mine it doesn't. The GPU fans still spin and shows a picture but won't get past the screen posted below and still shows a Red LED. The last thing he did was put some new computer fans to the motherboard and it didn't turn on after that.

Online I read the red light means the GPU is not receiving enough power

it is possible that the connector for power on the GTX 1060 became physically broken somehow (likely due to age). The power supply is definitely sufficient if you're powering a 3060, but the 1060 itself is defective.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

Here's the thing, This is his first PC, I built it for him and the GPU he bought was from someone on Facebook market place, It's been two weeks since its been built and it worked fine until now. The last thing he said he did was connect some new RGB fans to the MOBO and the computer would not turn on after that. One more thing since his PCIE cable is an 8 pin he had the 6 pin connected and the additional 2 pin connected on the inside like this (Image posted below) and I want to believe there's a small it could have been fried because he had it like that

Those 2 pins are definitely not seated correctly. If that was turned on like so, it is possible to have caused some form of damage

That is not a picture of his build, it was just an image I found online that fit the example perfectly. I want to believe that could be a reason why the GPU is not booting. He said he tucked it in like that because he didn't like how the cable looked for display and since he did that I want to believe it could have been fried somehow.
