Hi guys,

I'm running a custom loop. But recently my GPU temp for certain games go as high as 80 deg in msi afterburner which has never happened before. But after I restart my PC and play the same game my temp shows the normal range. Any idea why this happens?

What game and what settings ??

My gpu is also in a custom waterloop and at idle is 25 26c and most games push it to 60c and some games in hectic fight scenes with lots of on screen action etc will pish it close to 75c. However i have dual D5 pumps with a 420mm and a 280mm radiators and the dual pump block has a dedicated resevoir of 300ml

the only temp outside of panic mode that is important is the water temp. if that is under 40c you are fine. if the loop itself starts to climb to excessive temps then panic mode is required.

Most loops can handle 40c plus but 50c is iffy territory as expansion contraction etc can cause wear and degradation to tubing over time.

Forgot to ask..........unreal 4 unreal 5 or unity ??? each engine can have an impact on how a game reacts and impact temps to a degree. I find unity engine games generally run hotter that unreal engine.

I was referring to the memory hotspot. as the die itself never really goes above 45 - 50c

The DDR6+  memory is the only temp I really pay attention to on the RTX cards

Apologies for not stating the fact....in my response i was merely thinking of what i monitor constantly.
