Does this work together?!

So I have bought an oem which is a little bit older. It comes with a sandy bridge Intel i5-2400 which I want to put in a newer Asus motherboard

Would it work with the psu I thought of purchasing?

The PSU would be the Be Quiet! Power 9 400 Watt

Why?

Thats such a waste of money as this is a super basic board. Basically oem level.

It'll work but it wont really do anything that the oem board isnt doing in terms of working.

Psu works too but what is the goal here?

Yes, that motherboard supports the i5-2400.

Honestly though, a PC that old isn't worth investing any money into. That board is no better than the OEM board you already have, and that's not a great power supply. You won't gain any performance from this sidegrade.

I sold my soul for ProSupport.

I'd recommend trashing the OEM and buying something newer. We're talking 12yo CPU here. It's not worth anything or investing into. Even the most basic i3 CPUs of modern architectures are vastly superior. I recommend you change your course of action.
