Ok, so i seem to be having an odd issue on windows 10, if i leave my computer on for some time when i come back the screen is dimmer.  If i just open up display settings it reverts to its normal brightness.

I cant find any setting to do with adaptive brightness, or a power sleep setting or something.  Its very odd.

Its a desktop PC that hasnt had this issue before and it seems to have only appeared in the last couple of weeks.

Any suggestions would be helpful

Thanks.

It's not Windows. it is a software that you installed that communicates with the monitor to adjust the brightness, or your GPU drivers, or the software just darkens the screen with a semi-transparent color window that it full screen on your screen.

While Windows does have this feature, it is for laptop displays. It uses a different protocol to desktop displays.

For Desktop Displays, Windows does have the API, but aren't used by any feature or user accessible panels.
