Playing PC Games from Living room suggestions/help?

Hey LTT Forum!

I've been trying to find the best way to play PC games on my living room TV. Thankfully my office closet and living room share a wall, and because of this I've drilled a hole from the office closet to the living room and have routed a HDMI 2.1 cable along with a USB extender with a Bluetooth dongle. While this works okay I have to disconnect ;via window display settings, the living room TV from my PC  every time I stop playing games so I don't have a "extra monitor" hooked up. Again the setup works fine, but feels really inefficient and clunky as I have to go back and forth from office to living room to get everything going. I've also tried the steam link app on my Chromecast, but I don't like that solution as the controller set up is super inconsistent. Is there a more efficient of gaming from my PC to my living room TV?

Thanks for your suggestions and help,

I tried to do pretty much the same thing for about a year. It's too hard. Build a cheap office PC and put your gaming PC at your TV.

I could add that as far as gaming, make Steam Big Picture start when windows starts and you can easily use Xbox controller to navigate.

This is what I do.

Hdmi cable to the television.

Configure display setting to use only monitor 2. Confirm selection.

And then reverse the same thing to monitor 1 when I wish to use the monitor and not tv.

This does not mean you disconnect the cables at all.

I don't believe there is any suitable alternative
