SSD HDD Help

Go to solution Solved by FrowningHippo,

If you install a new copy of Windows, it's probably best to newly instal the the programs you want as well. You can offcourse do this fairly easy, as long as you still own your licenses to the paid software. If you have bad internet. And you play videogames. Transferring your steamlibrary would be smart. Since Steam can reinstall the games based on the files that you already have.

As for leaving the Windows copy on your HDD. I guess it doesn't harm to have a back-up drive. But you probably can't acces the HDD on your new Windows installation then. Unless you create partitions on the HDD. But I would honestly suggest just making a fresh install and making a back-up. You can clean out the HDD as soon as you are sure the new Windows copy has all the files and programs you need.

Hi,

Today i have ordered a new ssd today as I didn't have one before and it was at a very good deal. So now I am thinking deeply. I am without a doubt certain on installing a new copy of windows and formatting the drive. My 'problem' is that I'm really not sure about if I should uninstall my windows on my hdd, and also my apps on my old windows, can I still put them on my home screen with my new ssd copy such as Google and ccleaner. Or would I have to reinstall then on my new ssd.

Many thanks, Fire!
