Windows activation key removed

Hey.
I downloaded Linux on my laptop which I rarely use because it was stuttering on windows. Now I realized that I had a key on it. Is there any way to restore the key or something? (I downloaded it to a Windows 10 partition so I don't have windows).

If you were to reinstall windows on that drive it should reactivate your key.

laptops since ehh 2014 have the product key embedded in the bios.
The key is only good for the sub-version it came with so if it had "home" you install home, if "pro", install pro.

you can install 10/11 even if it shipped with 7, it should activate regardless.
