AMD RX 570

4GB VRAM

INTEL I7 3770

16GB RAM

For months my pc could run mostly every game at solid fps like: gta fivem heavily modded at a solid 60 or so fps, Rust at 80fps, csgo at 140 etc, however a few months ago something i’m not sure of happened where now when i play any game no matter the game my fps is great for about 10 minutes around 60-80fps then will drop to around 30fps for about 5 minutes then be good again then it’ll repeat that forever. I tried some methods to attempt to fix it such as reinstalling windows (but keeping files), Done every driver update and windows update possible, tried disabling all antivirus software. But nothing seems to work. My cpu gpu ram %s stay the same before and during the fps drop and so do the temps of all.

Games played where it happened

Rust

Gta 5

Fivem

Fortnite

CodMW2

Csgo

Valorant

Gta 4

Seems like there is a slight issue with AMD RX 570 dropping frames sometimes. Open device manager and disable the GPU. Once disabled, re-enable the card. See how you get on.

You could try altering your pre compiled shaders settings as well, if shaders need compiling during play then the fps will drop as shaders are compiled using the GPU. Steam supplies some pre compiled shaders for games based on similar hardware to yours (might be hit and miss depending on number of people using similar hardware), some games allow you to toggle between pre compiled and on demand compiling, others may need the games config file editing to alter the behaviour.

Something else to try is to empty any shader caches and let games re-populate the caches with fresh copies.
