Windows 11 or Windows Server 2022

Go to solution Solved by RSchoenknecht,

Thanks, I thought as much...

Hi there... just want to hear what everyone thinks ... I just did a major upgrade on my pc ( i5 2nd gen to 13 12th gen) and I'm out buying a Windows licence for the PC ... I previously ran Win10 and upgraded to 11 with the work around on the previous machine... Now I'm thinking of getting Server 2022, would there be any negatives? I play some games (some of them via Radmin) do some network shares for media throughout the house, and I use the PC as my media viewer in the bedroom as well.

Specs are i3-12100f, 16Gb 4000Mhz RAM, B660 MSI mobo, GTX 1080 in case that makes any difference...

Any thoughts would be appreciated...

There's absolutely no reason to run Windows Server on a gaming desktop.

As long as you're running less than 10 simultaneous client connections, sharing folders off regular desktop Windows works just fine. (And if you're doing more than that, building a home server or NAS would be a good idea.)

I sold my soul for ProSupport.
