I just a few days ago got a new MacBook Pro with M2 Pro 16GB Ram and a 512GB storage. Long time Linux user. Have many machines in the house, 90% run either arch or Ubuntu depending on what it's doing and have 2 windows machines. So I love hopping around but have always normally stuck Linux. I also have loved to mess with mac's in the past but never have had a chance to daily one. And I needed something with good battery that can do what I want, and plus Imma sucker for new architectures. But so far Ive loved everything except the power brick, love the MagSafe hate how by default it has to stick the big brick in the wall, luckily I had a old Mac with the cable extension thing, so I moved it to this one and solved that. Keyboard is way nicer than expected. I mostly just play mc for gaming and works well too. Sound is the most stunning thing to me. Id def recommend one to anyone who needs something portable and powerful, and isn't a huge gamer, not great support for other games, emulation kicks ass though. VM's run alright even x86_64 if using UTM. Also so glad they added the startup bong back. Sounds dumb but like its my fav part of a Mac from hearing them in school as a kid.

Oh yea! I saw that, turns out they only support M1 at the moment, but say M2 support is about 2ish weeks out from places I read. It's okay, I can be patient. Plus daily driving macOS is fun. Love a bit of a curve to my normal routine. My end goal is to get Win11 arm working too so I can have a triple boot machine for kicks. No real reason, just always wanted a machine that could in theory do and run anything.
