Canceling iTunes Match

Go to solution Solved by MrSuperb,

So this just refers to uploaded tracks?

You can redownload all purchased (i.e. paid money for) songs. Songs available in the iTunes Store are never uploaded.

In 30 days, my iTunes Match subscription will expire.  I am not really sure that the service was all that it was cracked up to be.  I'm considering canceling.  Does this mean that songs that I have purchased directly through iTunes will no longer be in the cloud or does that just refer to songs I have uploaded from my computer?

The initial reason for subscribing was because of Apple's decision to discontinue their upgrade program to DRM free music.  In order to get rid of the DRM on a lot of my music, I had to use iTunes Match.  I would basically delete the encrypted files (original 128 Kbps files) and download them again.  In many cases, this would give me an upgraded, DRM-free version.  Thoughts?

You can still (re)download all the files purchased in the iTunes Store

I assume that yeah, they will no longer be in the cloud.  I'm just surprised someone on this forum actually paid for Itunes match. :o  Not that its bad... or anything, :/

It was my only legit option to get the DRM off.
