3700x Cpu issue

Hi, I brought a second hand 3700x cpu from a shop which came with a 2 year warranty (cex)

 

This is to go into a Gigabyte x470 gaming 7 wifi as part on my unraid setup.

 

A 1700x and 5900x cpu has been used with this motherboard with the same ram 2x 16gb 3000 corsair lpx, I have never had a issue, and the only thing has changed is the CPU.

 

On stock settings it boots into windows not a problem, but prime95 and OCCT both show faling cores in seconds, the only way I can around this is to set the LLC to high and disable PBO.

 

I ran the ram at stock settings and used a set from my other machine, tried a few diffrent bios versions with no change.

 

With LLC on high I manage prime95 for 45 mins and with LLC High & PBO disabled it has run for 2 Hours.

 

Can anyone advise, I have read loads of stories of a degraded/failing cpu's with similar symptons.
