just wondering what gpu would fit my setup nicely.

cpu: i7-4790k

motherboard: asrock c266 ws

gpu: EVGA gtx 1050 ti

ram: 4x8 gb 1600 mhz ddr3

psu: 750w bronze or 80 (idk what it’s called)

my current monitors uses dvi-d but it doesn’t matter since i’ll probably buy a gpu and monitor at the same time.

Budget? Haswell is super underpowered for modern games anyway so set your expectations not enthusiastically

Also, specific model on the PSU would be very appreciated there.

With that CPU I would not go higher than maybe a 6600XT or 3060...

I would say a 6600 non-XT would be a good match with a good value...

I assume you are playing at 1080p?

For your monitor, you won't find a new GPU with a DVI port... If you want to go usesd, maybe a used GTX1080 it's close to the 6600 non-XT and has a DVI port...

I would suggest a 1660 or a 2060 if you can find them in your price range. Newer GPUs are dependent on newer features on everything else. Sad thing with AMD is the latest drivers are giving encoding issues across the board.

That said, if you can find a reputable RX 580 8GB model under $200 and put on 19.9 drivers, you would be golden on AMD side. I rocked a R9 390X 8GB model until last month on an 7700K. Worked flawlessly.

Why I stress reputable seller: too much miner shenanigans to safely suggest second hand market. You have to be really careful.

if that 1080Ti is still good and has really good use history, would be werf for 200

i mean the 1080 ti costs 40 usd more than the 2060 dual evo and the 1660's are the cheapest of them so the price doesnt really make a difference.

what would be "best"? i got i7-4790k.

4790K can still feed all of them, it will be bottle necking your application and/or asset loading times. Just the 1080ti has more longevity compared to other offerings (11GB vs 6GB). if you ever plan to upgrade to 1440p or even 4K, 1080Ti will be a better investment now.

i mean im quite fine with 1080p and i will probably be doing bigger upgrades at the end of the year.

but i dont quite understand what applications/assets your talking about.

but i would like to get a gpu soon and probably keep it when i upgrade everything else would the 1080ti be best for that?

Yeah, 1080Ti would be better. Has at least 2 years of life still left or even more.

What I mean is the CPU will bottle neck how fast the application loads or assets load. I just upgraded to a 7900XTX and my 7700K can feed it no problem in the games and applications I run at 4K 60FPS. Tiny stutters on loading but that is about it. This whole "bottlenecking" is a play on the vanity of butter smooth performance aka up selling.
