I'll try to keep this short.
Here's my memory:

Here's my motherboard
https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/Z790-D-DDR4-rev-10/sp#sp
RihfTqK.png

The motherboard says it supports 3200 (there's not even "OC" behind 3200).
The memory is on the Memory Support List

Default or disabled or whatever it says is DDR4-2400 CL17-17-17 @ 1.2V
XMP Profile #1 is DDR4-3200 CL16-18-18 @ 1.35V
XMP Profile #2 is DDR4-3000 CL15-17-17 @ 1.35V

If i choose either of them, my computer pretty much instantly blue screens as Windows starts loading.
I've not changed anything else in BIOS besides fan curves and Gigabytes pop up in Windows that wants you to download their crap.
Is there any way to get this working or should i return them and try others?

CPU supports JEDEC 3200 officially, and XMP is outside that so technically overclocking. Try latest bios if you're not already on that? Otherwise replacement might be easiest.

Are you running the latest bios? see above

@porina
Yes. I didn't want to reinstall Windows but i got like 20 different blue screens. So i tried my old memory and it worked so i thought Windows wasn't happy with the new memory. But then while reinstalling Windows with the new memory it started blue screening again. So i updated to the latest BIOS which fixed it. But Windows still pretty much instantly blue screens if i turn on XMP.

(i used @porina cause i didn't realize at first how multiquote worked)

If the system seems stable and you want to check Windows without a full reinstall, you can follow the instructions at https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/use-the-system-file-checker-tool-to-repair-missing-or-corrupted-system-files-79aa86cb-ca52-166a-92a3-966e85d4094e

Note it is normal for Windows to break itself so the 2nd stage might find an occasional error. It does that even on a fresh install before doing anything!

I tried clicking the repair thing a few times in between the like literally 100 blue screens i had before finally reinstalling Windows. Updating BIOS fixed all the blue screen issues with the new memory as long as i leave it at default.
Can't i try a manual basic overclock? Like a bit smaller overclock than the XMP. I don't really know how to though. On older motherboards the settings were more basic, but on these newer motherboards everything is split into like dozens of different settings so i don't even know how to just change basic clock speed, cas latency and voltage to see if it works.

You can try other more relaxed timings. Starting at XMP 3200, change the primary timings to 22-22-22 which is the middle standard timing. Everything else can remain on auto. See if that works. If so, you could try pushing it closer to the ram rating 16-18-18. Alternatively you could leave it on XMP but reduce the speed a notch or two and see if that helps.

I tried changing System Memory Multiplier to 3000 once yesterday but it only said 3000 for some reason and it made me reset the whole BIOS after rebooting. Unlike when i tried it just now it has instead written out the whole "DDR4-3000".
I also figured out that that the digits are CAS-tRCD-rRP-tRAS. I didn't realize how to change all four of them before. I thought you had to type them all in at the same entry or something.
As for how to change memory voltage i still have no idea how to do that.

For now on my first attempt i've booted into Windows on DDR4-3000 with 19-19-19-38 timings and it's the first time i haven't blue screened from changing any memory settings.
I assume the memory voltage is at 1.2 as i haven't changed anything regarding voltage. But how do i change it? Cause i assume i'll have to up the voltage in order to try higher speeds and lower timings.

Normally when you set XMP it will also apply the voltage for you. If it is not doing that for some reason that could be a problem. I'm not familiar with the layout Gigabyte use.

You can attach images to the forum and display it inline which is preferred to linking externally.

Yeah but as XMP didn't work i wanna know how to change the voltage manually so I can try increasing it as i raise the speed and lower the timings.

I know but i just thought four images would make such a wall so i thought it'd be better, but I'll put them here next time

You'll have to look for the setting. It will be there, somewhere.

Some people put them in spoiler tags if it gets too long. Many dislike external sites since their interfaces are horrible and can be filled with ads. As such, response rate may be lower.

The first memory test passed
I found the DRAM voltage now. But under DRAM Voltage it also has an option called VDDQ CPU, is that anything you need to care about?
Gonna try 3200 19-19-19-38 now

How come XMP DDR4-3200 16-18-18-36 @1.35V doesn't work, insta blue screen
But now when I've manually set it to DDR4-3200 16-18-18-34 @1.35V it seems to work just fine. Booted into Windows and Windows Memory Diagnostics hasn't found any errors so far (Edit: 100%, no errors)
