A wiring question.

As it turns out, while I was pulling out all my old soldering gear I found my multi meter and was able to answer this myself.  Thanks for anyone who took the time to read.

Resistance goes like this: series Rs = R1+R2

 

parallel 1/Rp = 1/R1 + 1/R2 or Rp = (R1*R2)/(R1+R2)

Remember, the parallel equivalent resistance is always smaller than the smallest resistor in the parallel line.
