Hello there!
I've been facing this problem for quite a long time and have not found a solution to this day...

The thing is, when I turn on my computer immediately after shutting it down, it refuses to boot even though the MOBO light is still on. Also, for the computer to be started once again, I have to take out the power cable out of the outlet and let it stay so for like 2 hours before booting the system again. Its pretty weird that this happens. What's even weirder is that when I boot my computer, it turns on for 2-5 seconds, the fans spin, the lights turn on but after that it turns off till the fans stop spinning. It then restarts most of the time automatically, but I would really appreciate a solution to this problem. The cherry on top is that If I press the restart button when its booting normally, it continues as is and doesn't turn off. I have checked all motherboard to case pins and have verified they are connected the correct way. A BIOS config pin is also attached to the motherboard.

Today, something new also happened. the PC hasn't been able to turn on since morning, it is 2:43 am as of me writing this. Perhaps the attached video will better explain.

I hope that somebody, anybody that reads this can provide me with a solution. Mind you, my rig is quite old so please, be kind.

Specifications:
CPU: Intel Core i7-2600 3.4 Ghz
MOBO: Gigabyte GA-H61M-S2PV
GPU: RX 570 4 GB
RAM: 16 GB DDR3
STORAGE: 500 GB HDD
PSU: Cooler Master 750W plat rated power supply. (fully modular)

Once again, all help is appreciated. Thank you.

Most replies I have gotten tell me it is a power supply issue. Was hoping you guys could help me out...

it's probably morso a bios/motherboard issue

the pc probably needs the bios to revert to safe defaults in order to post. So either the bios's regular defaults aren't compatible with the hardware , or the bios is trying to load some custom settings you've applied with no success. thus it either need multiple reboots or just sheer time to lose electrical charge and revert to defaults.

basically , when you get it booted do a bios update , and check the bios battery is actually working or just spend the 2$ and replace it anyway.

There's something connected to the bios config pin on the motherboard as well (yellow pin?). I do not know what it is. Any ideas?

So should I just change the CMOS battery either way if it doesnt boot?

thats probably a reset jumper

but as stated you should try a bios update to see if it's an issue they already addressed

If your mobo has any error type lights, ensure to read the manual about those.

I agree with all other troubleshooting steps given. I had an issue where I couldnt boot every other time for a few months, mobo's RAM related error light would turn on, then it got worse, even after replacing my DDR3 RAM and RMAd my B-550F mobo which tested OK. So I RMAd my 5600X, and that resolved the issue.

My symptoms were consistent with the CPU's memory controller failing over time, but the only way to know it was a CPU issue was to rule things out using different or factory tested/RMAd parts.

No error lights, really except for the standby light which turns on whenever computer has power. So you're saying that it could be the CPU as well. Good to know
