Hi there,

Im having low gpu usage with most games, especially latest title , usually wont go beyond 70% I even format and reinstall everything and it is still the same

everything in my PC is quite new , not more than 2 years old, except for the PSU which is around 6 years old, is it possible that my PSU degraded and not provide enough of power ?

but some games like apex Im still able to get 90% + usage. Also I believe theres no thermal throttle, everything is under 80c

heres my spec:

i5 10400

Gigabyte Eagle RX6600 ( non xt )

16gb DDR4 2666 single channel

B460M gaming HD

256 GB m.2, 120 Sata ssd, 1 TB hdd

Pcie network card

Cooler master PSU 650w ( almost 6 years old )

The RX 6600 is a fairly low power GPU, so the CPU should be fast enough. However single channel RAM is certainly a performance killer (and 2666 is slow to begin with). I'd upgrade to faster RAM with dual channel and see if that changes anything.

Which resolution, 1080p? 720p?

GPU being underutilized usually means a CPU bottleneck (in this case the single channel RAM is bottlenecking the CPU so the CPU probably does bottleneck the GPU) paired with low ingame details and a low resolution.

Then I come and game on a PC with an RTX 3060Ti, a Core i7-9700 and 48GB of DDR4-2400 xD. That RAM is not overclockable at all because of the very, very basic BIOS of my Dell G5 5090. I can't even do basic things such as controlling the power behavio(u)r of my CPU there (it's possible to do via XTU tho)

When you're running 2400 in dual channel you actually have more bandwidth (2x2400) then 2666 in single channel.

DDR4 2400 MT/s has 19.2 GB/s throughput. Double that for dual channel.

Single channel 2666 MT/s has 21.3 GB/s, so can't keep up with 38.4 GB/s of dual channel 2400 MT/s

Did your card hit 100% power limit? Try let GPU-Z run in the background and monitor the GPU power usage.

Also yeah, get another RAM stick for dual channel.
