Hello, I'm trying to upgrade to a 4090, but I have several issues that I need to help with figuring out before I make any purchase.

1- I have a Corsair icue 5000x case and in terms of length (max gpu length for the case is 400mm), a 4090 will fit just fine, but the problem is with the height since I need 35mm of clearance before any bend on the cable. The case says it has 170mm of CPU cooler height clearance, but I don't know if that applies to GPU height as well.

2- since I need 35mm of space just for the cable and no 4090 out there is shorter in height than 140mm, 140+35= 175mm and assuming the max cpu cooler height for the case is the same as the GPU, i'll be about 5mm short not matter what so I'll need to use a 90 degree adapter from cablemod.

3- the 90 degree adapter from cable mod does not mention the MSI RTX 4090 gaming X trio (shortest 4090 I can find in terms of height besides the founders edition) as compatible on the store page for the adapter, but it does mention it in the compatibility list, so can I use this adapter with an MSI RTX 4090 Gaming X trio or not? https://store.cablemod.com/12vhpwr-angled-adapter/     if I can, then which variant am I suppose to get for the MSI RTX 4090 gaming X trio? Variant A or Variant B?

4- I have a Corsair HX1200w PSU and I have to get this cable https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Categories/Products/Accessories-|-Parts/PC-Components/Power-Supplies/600W-PCIe-5-0-12VHPWR-Type-4-PSU-Power-Cable/p/CP-8920284

Will this cable work fine with the cablemod 90 degree adapter that I linked along with my Corsair 1200w PSU? I know this might sound like a dumb question, but I really need to make sure since making mistakes with this kind of stuff can cause some real damage. Thanks in advance.

yes it will work with the Corsair type 4 12vhpwr cable I linked? or yes it'll work with an MSI 4090 gaming X trio? if so which variant? A or B? Can both the 90 degree adapter along with the Corsair cable work together with my PSU? is there any downside with using the corsair cable and the adaptor together? does the cable even work with my psu?

I see. As usual i didn't read thread properly :u..
If anything fits it should be B. But I see. its very har to see if you got clearance. I would check with calipers before buying:

Won't a vertical GPU mount solve many issues there ?

The Corsair 5000 is pretty spacious I think the card would still be able to breathe a bit

I've never mounted a gpu vertically nor do I really want to learn how to mount an expensive card vertically for the first time. I just need answers for the questions I asked in my opening post.

The compatibility list says Variant A

"MSI Gaming X Trio 4090    90 Degree Variant A (backplate side), 180 Degree Variant B (backplate side)"

while the Variant A store page itself doesn't mention MSI gaming X trio, but mentions that it supports other cards. The Gaming X trio isn't on the B variant store page either.

That's why I'm confused.

https://store.cablemod.com/compatibility/

scroll down to  "12VHPWR 90/180 Degree Angled Adapters"

if you go to the main page for the adapter itself, it doesn't mention MSI 4090 gaming X trio at all. scroll down to right under where it says "awesome styling"

Ok it was a suggestion for an innovative solution 😛

Mounting a GPU vertically is basically the same than horizontally, just need an extra adapter...

Sorry I edited my post after you commented already. I was saying, MSI 4090 gaming x trio is listed here for Variant A https://store.cablemod.com/compatibility/

but not here https://store.cablemod.com/12vhpwr-angled-adapter/ for the part where it lists compatible cards.
