Best option

  1. 1. What would be the best option?

    • Build unraid, create vms and work on VM
      0
    • Build Windows pc and run VMs on windows
      0

Budget (including currency): ~4000eur

Country: Lithuania

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Programming, some gaming, need to run 3 different Windows VM ( 1 core, 2gb ram is enough for each of them )

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

Hi,

Exploring the abilities of unraid a little bit further.

This is the building we're considering to order:

This will be a workstation for one of our employees but we also need to run 3 windows VMs.

Do you think it's a good idea to run Unraid on this and passthrough nvme ssd straight to workstation VM ? I mean this pc will always be on and I'm a bit worried if our developer will be able to work on this.

2nd GPU is for rare occasions when we do Lan parties ( it's totally optional as we just have it laying around )
