RTX 3080 wont boot black screen error code b2

i just bought a rtx 3080 (founders)and plugged it in my test rig and it wont boot, there is a error code "B2"

i think my motherboard is the fault (MSI P67A-GD65 (b3) its running a i7 2600k and 16 gb ram, i currently have no other pc laying around to test it either (it boots with the 750 ti thats in it) (gpu also seems to be fine, running fans and lights there is display that shows b2 on bottom right corner)

just updated the bios, didnt help

it doesnt say anything about it in the manual, im using the lowest pci-e slot because the cooler is covering the top pcie slot

Hmmm...that may be the issue, most GPUs require the top slot.
