CPU UPGRADE

Here are my computer specifications

Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 (rev 1.2)

AMD FX8300 @stock speed

2x8GB G.skill RipJaw DDR31600 ram

ASUS GTX1070 Graphics Card

Samsung 250GB EVO running windows 10 home x64

Samsung 1TB QVO with my games installed

Corsair CX550W power supply

I want to upgrade my motherboard, ram and cpu, would the ryzen 4500 be better than my FX8300, and is yes, would it bottle neck my GTX1070, my budget is 500 euro,

Yes. By a lot, about double IIRC.

No, it should be fine with a up to around a 6650 XT (or 1080 Ti in Nvidia terms).

If that's your budget you can likely get a much better CPU. The price difference between a 4500 and a 5600 should only really be in the range of 20-30 euros, and the 5600 is a lot faster than the 4500 (about 20% faster). given an AM4 motherboard should only be about 100 euros and a 32GB kit of RAM should be about 60-80 depending on who/where you get it, you should only end up in the ~300 euro range with either of those Ryzen chips.

That FX 8300, especially on stock 3.3GHz, heavily bottlenecks the 1070 you have. With the CPU ugrade you'll feel like you've upgraded the GPU too.

As for what you should get, for a budget of 500€ and assuming average EU prices (a tiny bit lower than Croatian prices):

- AMD Ryzen 5 3600 or 5500 or 5600 (non-G, non-X), the best would be the 5600 // 100-150€

- A B450 board with coolers on the VRM-s (for example MSI Tomahawk) or a B550 board // 100-200€

- 2x 8GB DDR4 with at least 3200 CL16 speeds while 3600 would be better //50-80€

- A single tower cooler with a 120mm fan and 4 or more heatpipes // 30-50€

If the PSU is more than 5 years old, you should also replace it. 650W, 80+Gold, modular -> cca 80-120€
