3080ti problem

I have a Asus x570 crosshair extreme viii and my 3080ti fe will not fit. The heat spreader plate in the motherboard sits too high and I have no idea how to attach the gpu. I also tried a evga ftw3 3080 12gb with the same results. Any ideas?

Can you add an image where you circle the exact part that's having issues, since looking at photos of the board the only thing I can see that's above the height of the PCIe slot is the top M.2 cover, which those cards shouldn't have a think enough backplate for that to interfere.
