Budget (including currency): around $1500

Country: USA

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Call of Duty, Fortnite, Boneworks, and light content creation (recording and editing gameplay in 1080p, photoshop, fl studio)

Monitors & Peripherals: Currently two 1080p monitors and I don't intend on getting a new, keyboard, mouse, or headphones

Reason for UpgradeI just want a build that I can boot up any game without having to worry about if my pc can run it, and if it can run it, without cranking everything to performance mode and low settings. Currently have a RX 580, i7-3770, 2x4gb DDR3 1333MHz

Intended Specs

CPU: i5-12600kf

CPU Cooler; NH-D15

Motherboard: Asus PRIME B660-PLUS D4

RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4-3600 (2x16gb)

Storage: Samsung 980 Pro 500gb (I'm not too worried about storage on the pc because I do plan on installing all my other drives)

GPU: MSI VENTUS 3060 Ti LHR

Case: 4000D Airflow

PSU: Corsair CX750M Bronze

Case Fans: Noctua A14 PWM (x2) A12x25 PWM (x4)

Questions:

I want to know if there are any compatibility issues with this and if so, what to replace it with. Also if there are any components that are better than the ones I chose that are relatively the same price.

Would it be worth to get a 1440p monitor? If I am going to have to run my games on low then I don't want it, but is 1440p 60fps on high settings achievable?

Get rid of that D15, it's garbage* compared to today's offerings like the Deepcool AK/AG620. Invest that money on a better PSU like the Toughpower GF1, Revolution D.F., or Phanteks Amp. Are you looking for aesthetics or performance on those case fans, because noctua just isn't worth it anymore unless you want the brown and beige look. Arctic's P series are much better for the price. Get a cheaper SSD. An MP33 or A60 should be enough. Getting a 1440p is just a matter of choice. If dual 1080p is enough for you, then don't get it.

Please mark as solved if I answered your question.

1440p is definitely achievable here and would look something like this

Since you're going to do video editing, AMD is out of the question.

This is much better value and much faster than your picked parts.

13600K a beast of a CPU, cooled with AG620, great value cooler.

B760M, because you seem to not care about OC, 13600K OC is laughable anyway.

2X16GB 3600, cheaper RAM, performance won't be affected.

P5 Plus 1TB, great value gen 4 SSD with DRAM.

RTX 3070, because video editing and also faster than 3060 TI.

High quality 650W PSU, don't cheap out on PSU.

Arctic P12 fans, much much better value than Noctuas, performs the same too, do not waste money on Noctuas.

I would actually recommend this instead. No need to update the BIOS for the newer cpu, and a little bit more storage for the C drive at least.

This one is the best in the group IMO, but with a few other optimizations you can cutr a lot out of this budget without sacrificing any performance.

  • I'd get a 13400f instead of the 13600k.  It has the same core count as the 12600k and is faster, but it costs $110 less than the 13600k and will game about the same while still having plenty of threads for editing.
  • The Thermalright Peerless Assassin is gonna be the same as the AG620 for $20 less.
  • $5 more for the full height mobo.  I usually never care, but having a few extra headers might be nice and it will look good.
  • DDR4 3200 is optimal for 12th/13th gen intel in terms of being guaranteed to work and being as fast as the system can benefit from.  It's also $15 less.
  • You can get an A-tier 750w for $6 more.  I've also had 2 terrible customer service experiences with thermaltake and on a part that is more likely than most others to need service, I'll avoid thermaltake if they aren't absolutely the best value at a given price point.  It's a good PSU, I just felt so ignored by Thermaltake and it was like pulling teeth to get them to respond to me. The 750 also opens you up for a 3080.
  • The high end 30 series cards are not priced well new at the moment.  You can get a 3080 for $500 on eBay, it won't be very old, and if it doesn't work (highly unlikely, most big sellers know better than to sell dead cards and gett themselves fucked by eBay buyer protection) you will get your money back.
    • 3080 (good seller)Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 10Gb Graphics Card OEM Dell Alienware | eBay (
    • The dell 3080s are actually good and would fit your aesthetic well.
    • This seller claims to be not only testing, but stress testing the cards to ensure they work well.
    • If you get this and it works on arrival, you should never have an issue with it, and warranties only last 2 years anyway.
    • Most of these 30 series cards have barely been used.
    • If it arrives non-functional you get your money back.
  • For the P12s, you want the PST ones because you can daisy chain them, otherwise you will run out of fan headers on your motherboard.  The PSTs also come in a 5 pack for $5 more than 3 solo non-PSTs.  You could put 3 on the front for intake and 2 on the top for exhaust and have an extra corsair fan on hand for a spare.
