amd cpu line up

Go to solution Solved by igormp,

Ryzen 3 -> 5 -> 7 -> 9, pretty much the same as Intel's.

Then the three numbers from right when goes higher the cpu gets stronger, like 5600, 5700, 5900, 5950.

And then we have different alphabets after the number for different types, like G for the ones with integrated graphics, X for high-clocked models, U for low power mobile, H/HS for high-power mobile.

thank you yes i know that i meant only their line up and generations and so on i know their use and capabilities but dont know their lineup and each time i see a model of them anywhere to understand where it stands in power i just search for its benchmark and look for nearest intel core serries cpu to understand its powers

You can think of Xeons as having been around since the days of Socket 775 because Socket 771 and 775 had them, Socket 771 being exclusively Xeon based but in reality it's the same chip.
You can mod a 771 to run in a 775 socket/board and I have a couple here done that way.

TR has only been around by name since DDR4/AM4 has, older versions of an AMD server chip were called "Opteron" and those are best referred to as server chips, starting with Socket 939 onward.
Opteron chips for 939 are known to be good clockers for that socket and I have a few that can and do outperform their desktop counterparts with ease.
Maybe Opteron was the "Missing" link you was looking for in the AMD lineup but yes, that's the older server chip line by name from AMD.

The naming scheme for Epycs, Threadrippers, and Xeon are really messy, don't try to look at for something that makes sense, it's not intuitive and they change it every so often. You're better off searching for the CPUs released in a certain year and comparing those by yourself.

FX6300 @ 4.2GHz | Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 R2 | Hyper 212x | 3x 8GB + 1x 4GB @ 1600MHz | Gigabyte 2060 Super | Corsair CX650M | LG 43UK6520PSA
ASUS X550LN | i5 4210u | 12GB
Lenovo N23 Yoga

building a pc is like choosing a wife, you can build something ugly on the outside but beautiful inside, or you can have something beautiful from outside with no brain, if you be lucky you can build a pc with amazing look inside and out if you have the money, and if you have crappy luck with no money you can end up with an ugly slow pc, so it seems it all comes to what you worth for yourself to spend on what you want to spend time with, if you are confused dont worry i am confused too

At least it did help a little - If you use a translator (Google) that will help to understand more of what I posted.

i didnt really mean did not understood anything i meanth more like it was a little hard to follow the things you were saying it definitely helped a lot thanks my friend definitely it helped me , just one thing out of curiosity have you ever heard something like connecting a pc with hdmi cable to a tv and start watching a movie online and exactly in the same frame each time tv gets turn of and wont turn back on unless you pull the plug and wait for a minute and start it again and if you try to see that part again it happens again but with vga cable there isnt any problem this really confused me i tried with multiple graphic cards and results were the same

I would suggest making a new post in the Displays forum to get help with this issue.

That's cool, I didn't mean to be so confusing but at the same time I had to explain it so hopefully it would help.
