unexpected fps on minecraft

i got a 7870 and started playing minecraft and on average i get 50 fps and when chunks load 30 fps

i have a 3570k nd 2x4gb ram 

is this about right? i hear people with slightly better systems getting 200+ 

and yes i have 64bit java and dont have advanced gl on

I get 500+.....  I have an 8350 and gtx 770....

try allocating more ram

I get 15fps all the time, i have no idea why, ive got a better cpu and worst cpu but still my cpu can handle itself, it should take this low, even on stock config, for some odd reason adding a 256x256 resource pack brings my fps up.

You probably dont have the java arguments right for allocating ram. Look up a guide on how to allocate ram in 1.7 launcher. I would explain but im writing this on an ipad on the toilet .

Also makesure V-Sync is off.

i was also wondering if maybe minecraft was running of my cpu but the monitor i play minecraft on is connected to my gpu so...

solved it! the additional ram i allocated in the runtime parameters didnt save so it has been capped all the difference ram can make eh?
