Hello,

I'm searching for an hardware keychain for Linux distros, that I can unlock with my fingerprint, I guess some USB device must do the job.

I would like to use this device to login but also to access the passwords like a password manager or the Apple Keychain, that is an all-in-one solution to be precise.

I don't except cloud sync too, I can do that manually in case (or automated with a script).

Is there any device on the market that is widely compatible with Fedora for example?

Let me guess, your name is James Bond.  What you describe is interesting but the only place I have seen anything like what you describe would be in a James Bond movie.  A USB thumb drive with a fingerprint I.D., along with a password manager and all the Linux distros?  Sorry, but have never seen anything like that, not saying it doesn't exist somewhere, I just haven't seen it and I don't think many others have seen it either.  Good Luck.

Hi, I don't think it's an incredible request, think about it.

Hardware keychains, or at least finger print readers do exist and they are fully compatible with Microsoft, some even with Linux, I just need to find it again 😄 .

Oh btw, I'm not asking all in a single bundle, but one finger print reader that could unlock whatever container or partition mounted in the system.

The password manager could be just a nice integration, but it can be also run by the system, but allowed to read passwords after the finger print reader authorization.

Why do I ask this? Because it's how it works in macOS, but it's a very quick explanation.

Just so you know, the macOS keychain has serious issues in the sync with iCloud, so not even that it's good... A reboot usually fixes the issue.
