Transfer saves?

So, I finally decided to buy skyrim legendary edition for my pc thanks to the steam sale. While I'll play the whole game again it would be nice to have my saves from my xbox games since I spent a lot of time playing there. I found this guide and would like to know if any of you has ever tried anything like that. It really works? If it does, does it run smoothly, or it is not worth it? Thanks.
