Can I use a smart plug?

Hey, I recently got this smart plug which you can control from your phone.  I was wondering if I could hook this up to my pc and there for not have to turn off the PSU manually from the back. I have to turn it off every night because otherwise their is this huge light in my room. Anyways, Do you think the smart plug would ever harm the computer? Or ever cut the power randomly?
