Powerline networking help

I am currently looking into powerline networking and think it will be best for my needs but I was wondering if there is anything I need to take into consideration specifically for powerline. Also I would like a recommendation for some good powerline adapters.

It is good if you can return it back to the store if it doesn't work, because in some houses it will just not work.

You need to know the phases of your house.

People think, it is as easy as plug and play, but it wouldn't be networking if a few curve balls were thrown your way would it.

From reading it they seem to have solved that issue with the phases. I have looked into powerline previously but it was back in gen 1 when it was it better be the same wire or no dice. I was wondering how I could tell if it will work beyond guessing. At this point it really is my only option so I am going for it either way and hoping for the best.
