I've never really liked hubs because usb 2 was slow enough but with the increased bandwidth in usb 3 is it finally worth getting one like for instance if i had a 4 port hub, would usb 3 be able to supply each port with enough bandwidth if the devices I intend to use are USB 2.0?

Just a quick question, why would one buy a USB 3.0 hub to use USB 2.0 devices in eh?

The spec sheet says that usb3 has 10 times the bandwidth of usb 2 and usb 2 didnt have that much bandwidth so splitting it not always a good option but since they are all backwards compatible if the hub has more bandwidth to split among each port then in theory it should be much better.

I see. Nice logic! :D

Well it might just work like that. It does make sense. All you can do is try at least and see. The added benefit of having a USB 3.0 hub is that you can buy USB 3.0 devices later on if you wanted to. :D

In my experience the issue isn't bandwidth, but power delivery.  An example would be trying to power two xbox controllers and two external hdds on an unpowered usb 3.0 hub.
